Ordering school lunches from Monday 28th April 2025
The administration of school lunches in the classroom each morning can take a considerable amount of time, particularly in Early Years and Key Stage 1. In addition, we aware that parents/carers are keen to know what their child orders for lunch each day.
It is important that we make the most of every minute during the school day and, for this reason, we are introducing a new school meal ordering system after the Easter Holiday.
When we return after Easter, we are implementing an ordering system used by many schools. Children will no longer order their lunches in the classroom, they will need to be pre-ordered at home through the ParentPay system. This will also allow parents/carers to keep track of what their child is ordering to ensure they choose a variety of foods and meals that they will enjoy. You can process your order on a daily, weekly or longer term basis through ParentPay.
You will be able to use ParentPay to select and prebook your child’s meals in advance, up to 8.00 am on the day you require meal. This ensures your child will receive the meal of their choice. Information on how to order is attached.
I do hope you appreciate the reasons for updating the procedure and enjoy spending time with your child selecting their meal choices.
In the initial weeks after the Easter holiday, office staff will check that pupils have ordered a lunch to ensure no one misses out.
If you would like to embrace the pre-ordering system ahead of 28th April, the pre-ordering system is live and, indeed, a number of parents already access it on a regular basis.
Please contact Mrs Riley in the school office if you require any further information.
