At Baldwins Gate Primary School, Forest School provides children with regular opportunities to learn, explore and develop in the natural environment. Through hands-on experiences, children build confidence, resilience, independence and teamwork while developing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around them. Our Forest School sessions encourage curiosity, creativity and problem-solving, allowing children to learn through exploration, challenge and adventure.
Our EYFS children enjoy Forest School every week, while children in Years 1–6 take part in 10 Forest School sessions across the year.
Our Forest School Handbook provides an overview of our approach to Forest School, including the experiences children will take part in, the skills they will develop and the principles that underpin our sessions. It also provides helpful information for families about how Forest School supports children’s learning, wellbeing and personal development.
