At Baldwins Gate, we believe that a healthy, balanced meal is an essential part of every child’s school day. All our lunches are freshly prepared and cooked on-site by Anya and her wonderful catering team, offering nutritious meals for the children to enjoy.
Pupil lunches cost £3.20 per day
Nursery lunches are £2.45 per day (from September 2025)
Universal Infant Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to free school meals under the Government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
To make the process simple and efficient, we operate a cashless system using ParentPay.
Parents must pre-order all school meals through ParentPay by midnight the day before. Meals can be ordered daily, weekly, or in advance for the term, giving you full flexibility.
ParentPay also allows you to see exactly what your child is choosing, helping to support healthy choices and a varied diet.
Please make sure there are sufficient funds in your ParentPay account by Monday morning each week to cover meals taken.

In addition to Universal Infant Free School Meals, some families may be eligible for means-tested free school meals for children of all ages.
Even if your child does not take up the meals, applying helps support the school through additional funding.

May include juice (permitted only in packed lunches)
🔔 Please note: we are a nut-free school.

All children may bring a small, healthy snack for morning break.
Reception and Key Stage 1 children are also provided with fruit during the afternoon.
Our EYFS class runs its own snack café each morning as part of the day’s routine.
We encourage all pupils to bring a named water bottle to school each day.
💧 Bottles should contain water only — juice is not permitted, except in packed lunches.
