Volunteers

We’re always on the lookout for friendly volunteers who can spare just 30 minutes to an hour a week to come in and read with our children. It’s a lovely way to support the school—and the children really enjoy it!

Safeguarding for information for vacancies

Baldwins Gate C of E (VC) Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Any person appointed to work at Baldwins Gate will be engaging in regulated activity with children. This is because they will either:

• be responsible on a regular basis in school for teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children,

• be working on a regular basis in school, where the work gives opportunity for unsupervised contact with children, OR

• engage in intimate or personal care, even if this happens only once.

It is an offence to apply for any vacancies at Baldwins Gate if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

The successful candidate will be subject to necessary pre-employment checks, including: an enhanced DBS, Prohibition List, Barred List, Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable professional references.

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, and as part of our pre-employment checks, shortlisted candidates will also have their publicly available social media profiles checked.
