At Baldwins Gate Primary School, all children are part of one of our four coloured houses, each named after a local area: Whitmore, Maer, Chapel Chorlton, and Butterton. Siblings and cousins are placed in the same house, and children remain in their house team throughout their time at the school, fostering a strong sense of belonging and community. Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to take part in exciting house days and contribute to various events and initiatives across the school. In Year 6, children can apply to become house captains—a role of great responsibility and pride. Each house votes for their new captains annually, and these student leaders work closely with staff and governors to support the school in areas such as charity days, celebrations, safety, mental health and wellbeing, competitive sports, and curriculum development.
