Trips in Year Four

River Study

A day spent in the Peak District for their river study will allow children to directly observe and analyse physical geographical features, such as river courses and landforms, while simultaneously enhancing their scientific understanding of UK wildlife through exploration of the river's ecosystem. This visit will further allow the children to extend upon and develop their ever growing geographical fieldwork knowledge. 

York 

Embark on a captivating two-night residential to York, where history comes alive! Children will delve into the Viking era at Jorvik and DIG, experiencing firsthand the sights and sounds of the past. The National Railway Museum will provide stunning "wow" moments, showcasing the evolution of transportation and its cultural impact. A visit to York Minster and Clifford's Tower will further enrich their historical understanding, offering a comprehensive glimpse into York's rich and diverse heritage. This immersive experience will solidify their historical knowledge and create lasting memories. This residential supports pupils historical skills. 

Liverpool- Walker Art Gallery

A Year 4 visit to the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, combined with immersive workshops like "Storytelling with the Greeks" and "Discover Ancient Greece and Rome," will not only enhance their artistic appreciation but also deepen their understanding of classical history and mythology, fostering a rich, interdisciplinary learning experience. This experiences allows children to develop both their historical and artistic skills.
